Mejillones, ¿Frescos? Mussels, really fresh?

Ayer en LuluMkt me puse loca de contenta al ver los mejillones, mojojones en mi tierra, que vendían a un precio razonable, 15kd/kilo, y que leía su cartelito "vivos". Que nervios y que chasco. En principio pedí un kilo de ellos, pensando que con mi E* de una sentada acabábamos con el kilito. Pero no pudo ser. Elegí yo a mano los pocos que estaban cerrados y alguno mas, ni medio kilo pude juntar y peor fue al llegar a casa y limpiarlos para hacerlos al vapor cuando vi que estaban llenos de una masa negra, estaban todos muertos y a pesar de que no olían mal, tenían muy mala pinta.

Insistí en cocerlos, tal era mi ansiedad por probarlos que les di esta última oportunidad, pero...... no pudo ser. Quizá la próxima vez los encuentre de verdad frescos y a un precio razonable. Ya sabéis el marisco de concha siempre tenéis que comprarlo cerrado, si esta abierto y al tocarlo no se cierra esta muerto.... mal asunto! 

Yesterday I went over the moon when I saw the mussels ( mojojones in the basq country where I come from) sold at a reasonable price, 15kd/kilo, and read his placard "alive". I was so nervous and inmediately disappointed. Initially I ordered a kilo of them, thinking that with my little girl E * we could eat them in 10 minutes. But it was not. I hand-picked the few that were closed and some more, and less than half a kilo could gather and worse was to come home and clean them to cook them steamed when I saw they were full of a black mass, were all dead and although not smell bad, were really bad.
I insisted on cooking them, such was my eagerness to eat them that gave them this last chance, but ...... could not be. Maybe next time I can find them really fresh and reasonably priced. You know the seafood shell has to be closed, if it is open and not closed when touched is dead .... dont buy them!
