The Asturian
group Tejedor is one of the best groups of Celtic music on stage, featuring the
prodigious pipe playing by Jose Manuel Tejedor (1990, 1993, 1997
MacAllan-MacCrimmon prize for pipers) and the virtuoso accordion music by
Javier Tejedor.
They have
released five albums with some outstanding collaborations: Phil Cunningahm,
Michael McGoldrick, James MacKintosh (Shooglenifty), Duncan Chisholm
(Wolfstone) and John Joe Kelly (Flook). They have accompanied on stage artists
such as Van Morrison and Sinead O´Connor and participated with great success in
the main Celtic festivals: Inter Celtic Festival of Lorient, William Kennedy
Piping Festival, Celtic Connections and Ortigueira.
Tejedor also
participates in the works of other musicians in the Spanish and European scene:
Victor Manuel, El Sueño de Morfeo, Ella Baila Sola, Revolver, Carlos Nuñez,
Luar Na Lubre, Niall Vallely, Alasdair Fraser or Davy Spillane. Their
compositions have been interpreted by great folk artists such as Sharon
Shannon, The Tannahill Weavers, Gordon Duncan or Lunasa.
