Souq Mubarakiya Beit Ahmed

Siempre que voy al Souq una sorpresa me depara. Hoy he ido con unas amigas a buscar unas cosas para nuestros trajes de "paellistas" je je, de eso ni palabra, y cuando regresaba hacia el coche he dado con una maravillosa tienda. HAFEZ, en Mubarakiya Centre, una tienda con cosas muy étnicas; telas, trajes, menaje, pinturas, pufs, jaulas de madera echas a mano con cubierta de plata...... El flechazo ha sido instantáneo y no he podido dejar de comprar una cosita, algo baratito Br1, no te me asustes.
Os dejo unas fotos de alguna tiendita del Souq para que vayáis conociendo y unas fotos de la tienda y al finalizar os digo lo que me he comprado.

Every time I go to the Mubarakiya Souq in Kuwait City something surprises me and this time it has been this beautiful shop named HAFEZ with many ethnical things such as dresses, paintings, pufs, wooden bird cage silver coated, hand made dolls etc.. I´ve felt in love inmediately so for sure my next birthday presents will come from this shop.
I´ve taken some photographs in the souq and others from the shop. Hope you like them. 

Esto es el Souq clásico, lo que parecen collares son los rosarios para rezar el coran. Hay algunos preciosos.

Hoss Intropia is also in Kuwait (In The Avenues Mall) rather more expensive than in Spain but the truth is that it's good to go to the store and see the richness of the fabrics and skill in designing clothes. I have a dress that once landed in Bilbao I'll see if I can still find it and buy it.  And we are also fortunate to have Adolfo Dominguez (also in The Avenues Mall) the store is huge and has the entire collection including U the young brand. Something I realy miss is a good brand of Spanish Shoes with good prices. We are lucky to have  Pretty Ballerinas and from time to time Casta...

Colonia Kuwaiti para hombre | Kuwait 7711

No todos los olores hechos para Kuwait tienen Out entre sus componentes. Aquí os traigo esta colonia para hombres que mis chicos adoran llamada Kuwait 7711. Yo soy alérgica al Out por lo que esta colonia, que me recuerda a mi niñez y a mi abuelo, me encanta. La compró Br1 en la cooperativa no hace mucho y le costó 1.650 kd. También me parece un buen souvenir que llevarte de Kuwait para estas navidades. Cologne made in Kuwait, throughs me back to good memories of my grand Father. It´s quite cheap, 1.650 kd and you can get it from the coop, Shamiya. I also think its a good souvenir from Kuwait or even a gift for birthdays or Christmas.

Carmen González, una española en Kuwait

Domingo 7 de Febrero de 2017 Entrevista a Carmen González Shammas, española y kuwaití por matrimonio. La historia de Carmen es una mas dentro de las mujeres occidentales casadas con kuwaitíes, pero por otro lado su historia es única. Su marido es de la minoría cristiana pero nunca se ha sentido rechazada ni observada por pertenecer a ese porcentaje tan pequeño,   aunque sus hijas si lo han sentido cuando estaban creciendo en este país.  Cuando conoces a personas como ella que llevan tanto tiempo aquí te saltan dudas sobre la forma de vivir de esta sociedad tan distinta a la nuestra. Con ella recorreremos un poco de la historia de Kuwait, sobre todo desde que en 1993 puso un pie aquí ¿Cómo nace tu relación con Kuwait? Conocí a mi marido hace 34 años en Londres mientras los dos estudiábamos. Nos casamos en  Madrid   y nos instalamos a vivir en Londres. Durante 8 años vivimos en U.K. y allí tuvimos a nuestras dos hijas...
