Cuesta acostumbrarse en Kuwait a que el fin de semana es el viernes y el sábado y que el domingo mientras todos duermen en el resto del mundo tu te tienes que levantar para llevar a los niños al cole y de esta manera comenzar la semana. Cuesta acostumbrarse a decir que el jueves tienes gente a cenar en casa, que el sábado vas a misa etc. Yo llevo casi 3 años en Kuwait y aún me confundo al nombrar el fin de semana así que imaginaros si viviera en Arábia Saudí que el fin de semana se reparte entre el jueves y el viernes. Difícil ¿no os parece? Se están dando cuenta ahora de que a efectos comerciales poder negociar solo los lunes, martes y miércoles con el resto del mundo es un serio inconveniente a la hora de hacer negocios así que hay un propuesta para cambiar el fin de semana al viernes y sábado como nosotros.
When you arrive to kuwait is difficult to get used to the matter of fact that weekends are friday and saturday and many times you get confussed when planing events, and naming those days. I am almost used to going to the church on saturday and saying so, dating for dinner on a thursday etc.. so imagine now if you live in Saudi and your weekends are thursday and fridays.... Difficult is´nt it? Now they are trying to change this to the same weekend in other arab countries such as Kuwait because they´ve noticed that there are not many days for making business with the rest of the world but monday, tuesday and wednesday.
Otros paises árabes de la zona ya han cambiado el fin de semana a lo largo de estos años y algunos incluso se han adaptado al calendario (fines de semana) del resto del mundo. El business es el bsiness.
Other countries in the arab world have already adapted their weekends to the rest of the world. Business is business.
