DIA DEL LIBRO

LA EMBAJADA DE ESPAÑA EN KUWAIT

CON EL PATROCINIO DE LIBRERIAS THAT ES SALASIL

TE INVITA A CELEBRAR EL DIA INTERNACIONAL DEL LIBRO.

El día 23 de abril se celebra el Día Internacional del Libro gracias a una iniciativa de España ante la UNESCO que fue adoptada en 1995. El 23 de abril es una fecha simbólica para la cultura, la literatura y el mundo de los libros: un 23 de abril de 1616 fallecieron MIGUEL DE CERVANTES y William Shakespeare y un 23 de abril nacieron Josep Pla y Vladimir Nabokov.

Esta fiesta se celebra en España desde mucho antes: los libreros de Barcelona lo hacen desde comienzos del siglo XX ya que el 23 de abril es un día especial en Barcelona al coincidir con la celebración del día de Sant Jordi (San Jorge) patrón de Barcelona, Cataluña y Aragón. Desde entonces es tradicional en toda España comprar y regalar libros.

El 23 de abril de 2013 la Embajada de España celebrará el Día del Libro en un precioso patio de Bayt Lothan:

Todos, mayores y niños, estáis invitados y todos podéis participar en esta fiesta con la lectura pública de El Quijote, que abrirá nuestro Embajador. Cada uno de los voluntarios leerá unas líneas del primer capítulo para rendir homenaje al escritor y al libro en lengua española más universal. Los interesados en la lectura de El Quijote pueden mandar un email a:

As we discussed in previous post, the Spanish fashion has a big representation here. Once again, the Inditex group is in all world and markets but "Not only of Zara can the human being dress", right? Companies such as Condor have been installed in this country for a long time and that for moms like me who like the quality and variety of brand socks is helpful (in Baroue find them). Hoss Intropia is also in Kuwait (In The Avenues Mall) rather more expensive than in Spain but the truth is that it's good to go to the store and see the richness of the fabrics and skill in designing clothes. I have a dress that once landed in Bilbao I'll see if I can still find it and buy it. And we are also fortunate to have Adolfo Dominguez (also in The Avenues Mall) the store is huge and has the entire collection including U the young brand. Something I realy miss is a good brand of Spanish Shoes with good prices. We are lucky to have Pretty Ballerinas and from time to time Casta...

No dejéis de comprar una de sus piezas de cerámica pintadas por mujeres Palestinas en exclusión, refugiadas y con vidas muy muy difíciles. Las aceitunas, los dulces y las galletas saladas eran mis favoritas. This was one of my favourite plans while living in Kuwait. This association helps women in social exclusion living in as refugees in Lebanon, don´t miss the exhibition and please buy one of the fabric pieces or handpainted pottery. And try their olives or biscuits... love them.
