Día del Libro en Kuwait I parte Saint George | San Jorge | San Jordi books for ALL

¡Feliz San Jorge para todos!

San Jorge es el patrón de mi colegio y San Jordi el patrón de los catalanes que celebran una preciosa fiesta de la rosa y el libro.

No dejéis de ir hoy al evento en Bait Lothan (al lado de Marina Mall) organizada por el departamento cultural de la Embajada de España. Una feria del libro en la que encontraréis obras tanto en inglés como en español. A partir de las 7pm y hasta las 9pm, según me han dicho los niños son bienvenidos así que hagamos de esta tradición una fiesta en Kuwait.

In Spain there is beautiful tradition where you give a rose or a book to friends and family and the Spanish Embassy in Kuwait through the cultural department organizes tonight a cultural evening with a fair of books in English and Spanish.

From 7pm to 9pm at Bait Lothan very close to Marina Mall.

As we discussed in previous post, the Spanish fashion has a big representation here. Once again, the Inditex group is in all world and markets but "Not only of Zara can the human being dress", right? Companies such as Condor have been installed in this country for a long time and that for moms like me who like the quality and variety of brand socks is helpful (in Baroue find them). Hoss Intropia is also in Kuwait (In The Avenues Mall) rather more expensive than in Spain but the truth is that it's good to go to the store and see the richness of the fabrics and skill in designing clothes. I have a dress that once landed in Bilbao I'll see if I can still find it and buy it. And we are also fortunate to have Adolfo Dominguez (also in The Avenues Mall) the store is huge and has the entire collection including U the young brand. Something I realy miss is a good brand of Spanish Shoes with good prices. We are lucky to have Pretty Ballerinas and from time to time Casta...

No dejéis de comprar una de sus piezas de cerámica pintadas por mujeres Palestinas en exclusión, refugiadas y con vidas muy muy difíciles. Las aceitunas, los dulces y las galletas saladas eran mis favoritas. This was one of my favourite plans while living in Kuwait. This association helps women in social exclusion living in as refugees in Lebanon, don´t miss the exhibition and please buy one of the fabric pieces or handpainted pottery. And try their olives or biscuits... love them.
