Social Studies; Kuwait

Un año mas al mayor de mis niños, A*, le han pedido que rellene un libro sobre Kuwait para la asignatura de Social Studies y le han amenazado con meterse en un buen lío con el Gobierno de Kuwait si no lo termina. Tiene un libro de lectura y otro de ejercicios en el que preguntan exactamente lo mismo que pone escrito. Lo gracioso del caso es que el colegio les da el libro y les dice que lo rellenen en casa sin explicarle nada de nada y como ya se lo que pasa en estos casos, tengo a A* dedicado a otras cosas y yo entregada a rellenarlo con letra de niño.

Lo que no me gusta del caso es que nadie les esta explicando nada y bueno, creo yo que ya que viven aquí podrían explicarles algo del origen de Kuwait, su geografía, forma de vida, tribus que la conformaban 0 los Emires por ejemplo, que con un par de clases estamos listos, no como la historia de España, por poner un ejemplo, con los Reyes, las conquistas o por ejemplo los rios que lo conforman, aquí no hay ni uno y un solo mar, toma que fácil.....

Esta hoja en concreta la ha hecho el, no penséis que soy tan buena imitadora. Me lo se todo, preguntar, preguntar......

One more year the school has asked the kids in 5th and 4th grade to read and fill up the coprehension text of the story of Kuwait. They´ve told my son A* that if he doesnt finish it he will get in serious trouble with the government of Kuwait so as this happened the same last year I have A* doing extra homework and me filling it up with a horrible handwriting. What worries me is that the school is not explaining anything to the kids, has just given them the books and is expecting them to bring them back to school finished.  As we live in Kuwait they should take a couple of days to explain the origin of everything here.....Not a good way for learning, dont you think?
