Curiosidades en Kuwait City | Curious Things of Kuwait

Muchas cosas se están ocurriendo en Kuwait; están cuidando parques y carreteras, han reformado el souq manteniendo el encanto de antaño, estoy oyendo de conciertos y bailes que se están celebrando manteniendo la prudencia que corresponde y la city esta tomando una nueva forma. Hoy me he dado un paseito para comprar un seguro de viaje para mi hijo que compite en natación en Doha, Qatar y estas son las imágenes que me he traído para vosotros.
Many things are changing in Kuwait and I am lucky to be here to see them. The country is changing so quickly, the government is taking good care of roads and parks and the City is loocking forward to be a modern and open minded place. Today I had to go for an insurrance and I took a couple of pictures to share with you.

La fuente de la rotonda de la Gran Mezquita ya esta funcionando.
Si la mantienen limpia y bien pintadita puede quedar hasta bien con todas esas palmeras al rededor.

One of my favourite buildings in Kuwait, the Gulf bank.

Bajo la carretera se encuentra ese distribuidor para andantes, como no hay pasos de cebra. ¿a que no lo sabías?
Under the city I found this tunel to cross roads with four exits, thats a good one, don´t you think?

Estas dos me han parecido curiosas, es un pasillo de oficinas de seguros o casas de cambio o pequeños negocios de kuwaities que en la parte de atrás de su lujosa oficina tienen una cocinita, y para mi suerte yo he pasado por detrás y las he visto. Me encanta la creatividad de esta gente.
In the backside of the offices many kuwaities have theis little kitchens, today I´ve been lucky to see this. I love the creativity of this arabs.

Spanish fashion in Kuwait | Moda Española en Kuwait II parte

As we discussed in previous post, the Spanish fashion has a big representation here. Once again, the Inditex group is in all world and markets but "Not only of Zara can the human being dress", right? Companies such as Condor have been installed in this country for a long time and that for moms like me who like the quality and variety of brand socks is helpful (in Baroue find them). Hoss Intropia is also in Kuwait (In The Avenues Mall) rather more expensive than in Spain but the truth is that it's good to go to the store and see the richness of the fabrics and skill in designing clothes. I have a dress that once landed in Bilbao I'll see if I can still find it and buy it.  And we are also fortunate to have Adolfo Dominguez (also in The Avenues Mall) the store is huge and has the entire collection including U the young brand. Something I realy miss is a good brand of Spanish Shoes with good prices. We are lucky to have  Pretty Ballerinas and from time to time Casta...

Colonia Kuwaiti para hombre | Kuwait 7711

No todos los olores hechos para Kuwait tienen Out entre sus componentes. Aquí os traigo esta colonia para hombres que mis chicos adoran llamada Kuwait 7711. Yo soy alérgica al Out por lo que esta colonia, que me recuerda a mi niñez y a mi abuelo, me encanta. La compró Br1 en la cooperativa no hace mucho y le costó 1.650 kd. También me parece un buen souvenir que llevarte de Kuwait para estas navidades. Cologne made in Kuwait, throughs me back to good memories of my grand Father. It´s quite cheap, 1.650 kd and you can get it from the coop, Shamiya. I also think its a good souvenir from Kuwait or even a gift for birthdays or Christmas.

Palestinian Culture Center www.palestinianculture.org Pincha aquí / click here para ver la ubicación del evento  Este era de mis planes favoritos cuando vivía en Kuwait, me han enviado la información del evento e inmediatamente he pensado en compartíroslo, ya que compartir es de guapas, como dice La Vecina Rubia.  No dejéis de comprar una de sus piezas de cerámica pintadas por mujeres Palestinas en exclusión, refugiadas y con vidas muy muy difíciles. Las aceitunas, los dulces y las galletas saladas eran mis favoritas.  This was one of my favourite plans while living in Kuwait. This association helps women in social exclusion living in as refugees in Lebanon, don´t miss the exhibition and please buy one of the fabric pieces or handpainted pottery. And try their olives or biscuits... love them.
